Dear Duane

As I promised, I’m writing a small summary of my experience on Grateful.

For me this has been one of the most wonderful experiences in a boat ever, and it isn’t just because of the wonderful vessel or the extraordinary scenery of Formentera and Ibiza. All those can be spoiled with a sailing colleague that isn’t the right person for a journey of that kind.

Captain, You were the journey. The person I ve met these days has been extraordinary in many senses, the passion for sailing the ability of communication. The love for the sea the respect for it. The care you take in your boat, the technical knowledge, the experience, I could carry on...

More than that, at a personal level, your enthusiasm for life, your strength and energy overtaking all kind of tasks, your perseverance teaching me the sailing trade. Your patience with a Spaniard sailor wanna be. The endless conversations about endless subjects. Sea, boats, women, politics, religion, history, but over all, life. We didn’t stop talking about life. Even in our moments of silence, that with any other person could turn a bit awkward, for me were moments of reflection, gathering thoughts and conclusions about life teaching lessons - you and me had in our past. We both shared very intimate episodes of our lives, I believe that’s what the sea produces in ppl alone on a boat. I felt your confidant, your listener. Thx for that. I have learnt a lot

For all that, I had wanted to express my gratefulness. I have had enormously worthwhile, enjoyable and memorable days - I will value this experience for the rest of my life, hoping that our paths cross again at some point in life at the Sea Or in land.
